MORE
ABOUT PUPPET WHAT WHAT: She's a geek, does science
fiction themed shows all May online, fav tv show is Doctor
Who (and best friends are The Soctor who is with her in
the shop window, a Sock Zebra named Zorah, and alien named
Zlorg & another alien named The Master Master who happens
to be the Soctor's nemesis) and she hangs out with Santa
Claus in the North Pole and helps him out just before Christmas
(Talk With Santa, a live phone in show on Rogers Cable,
Mississauga). She's performed on tv, online and live at
cabarets and puppet slams & occasionally visits sci
fi conventions. She passionately hates yoyos (mainly because
of the string - she is too small to yoyo.) She loves chocolate
and tea parties. She is aware that once upon a time she
was a sock, but has no memory of that existence, and is
very happy and proud that she is a puppet now.

Workshop
Description
This one-day workshop will introduce
participants to one of the traditional craft methods of mold
making, which has been used for centuries to produce marionettes,
hand puppets, masks etc. In this workshop, participants will
learn how to take their own sculpted form, make a mold and
lay it up with papier-mâché. Because of drying
times participants will learn the assembly process, finishing
and painting on a pre-molded form prepared by Alexander.

RED WAGON COLLECTIVE: DONATIONS NEEDED:
fabric, wool, embroidery floss, needles, crochet hooks, old
sweaters
RED WAGON COLLECTIVE was formed in 2006 in response to our desire
to deepen our artistic, collaborative, and community-engaged
practices through residency projects that would enable us to
develop both intensive and extensive relationships in the Junction
- a rapidly changing neighbourhood in Toronto's west end. We
share a desire to work collaboratively with artists and non-artists
to create work that inspires new conversations; softens boundaries
between groups separated by age, culture, ability, and economic
status; promotes the presence of art in everyday life and contributes
to increasing public engagement in community development. The
work we create with communities is used in producing exhibitions,
public installations, and celebratory performance events. We
are currently working within the walls of the Evangeline Shelter.
