Workshop Description
This one-day workshop will introduce participants to one of the traditional craft methods of mold making, which has been used for centuries to produce marionettes, hand puppets, masks etc. In this workshop, participants will learn how to take their own sculpted form, make a mold and lay it up with papier-mâché. Because of drying times participants will learn the assembly process, finishing and painting on a pre-molded form prepared by Alexander.

Clay & Paper Theatre’s 2014 summer show is an epic papier-mâché tale of the search for the way home. ANIMAL NATURE is filled with a decidedly Canadian mélange of creature characters and giant puppets on a fateful journey to the very edges of the earth itself. Owl, Caribou, Possum, Grizzly, Orca and Humanimal have been displaced from their homes and must address the deceptively simple question “How did we get pushed here?”

RED WAGON COLLECTIVE: DONATIONS NEEDED:
fabric, wool, embroidery floss, needles, crochet hooks, old sweaters

RED WAGON COLLECTIVE was formed in 2006 in response to our desire to deepen our artistic, collaborative, and community-engaged practices through residency projects that would enable us to develop both intensive and extensive relationships in the Junction - a rapidly changing neighbourhood in Toronto's west end. We share a desire to work collaboratively with artists and non-artists to create work that inspires new conversations; softens boundaries between groups separated by age, culture, ability, and economic status; promotes the presence of art in everyday life and contributes to increasing public engagement in community development. The work we create with communities is used in producing exhibitions, public installations, and celebratory performance events. We are currently working within the walls of the Evangeline Shelter.

Image Foundry specializes in edition printing, custom art reproduction projects, and high-end photo-retouching work.
