THEATRE ROYAL DELUXE
from Nantes, France is one of my mostest favouritest puppet spectacles ever. The latest one has added another characher to the troupe, the Mexican dog El Xolo. Here are some selected Youtube videos. Their own website is a work in progress but there are lots more videos of past shows.

HUMANETTE PUPPETS
(taken from: (www.puppetstudio.com)

" A puppet-proportioned body hangs from the puppeteer's neck. If the performer dresses in black and performs against black, the illusion is that the human head appears on a small, comic body. The puppeteer, wearing black gloves, manipulates the limbs with rods attached to the hands and heels. The performer's hands might also fit into small shoes to operate the feet with a second puppeteer manipulating the arms. The "triplets" number from the classic Fred Asatire movie "Bandwagon" is a perfect example of a humanette."

PROCESSIONAL ARTS WORKSHOP: A Brief History
In 1998 Alex Kahn and Sophia Michahelles began collaborating on pageant puppetry commissions for New York's Village Halloween Parade. Gathering around them an ensemble of artists, stage technicians, performers, and other volunteers, they called themselves Superior Concept Monsters, and inherited a pageant arts tradition that went back to the origins of the renowned event, when Ralph Lee first brought out his giant puppets on Halloween Night in 1973. With the support of VHP artistic director, Jeanne Fleming, SCM has continued to expand the scope of their work, while maintaining strong community roots through local Puppetraisings, open workdays when hundreds of volunteers come together to work, eat, and collaborate on a single artistic goal.

RED WAGON COLLECTIVE: DONATIONS NEEDED:
fabric, wool, embroidery floss, needles, crochet hooks, old sweaters

RED WAGON COLLECTIVE was formed in 2006 in response to our desire to deepen our artistic, collaborative, and community-engaged practices through residency projects that would enable us to develop both intensive and extensive relationships in the Junction - a rapidly changing neighbourhood in Toronto's west end. We share a desire to work collaboratively with artists and non-artists to create work that inspires new conversations; softens boundaries between groups separated by age, culture, ability, and economic status; promotes the presence of art in everyday life and contributes to increasing public engagement in community development. The work we create with communities is used in producing exhibitions, public installations, and celebratory performance events. We are currently working within the walls of the Evangeline Shelter.

Image Foundry specializes in edition printing, custom art reproduction projects, and high-end photo-retouching work.
