Kuri, Fine Art Dolls & Puppets
Jenny's
whimsical characters are sculpted from beautiful textiles, feathers
and completed with needle-felted features.
The
inspiration for Jenny's unique figures are shaped by her interpretation
of the natural world. An abundance of colourful materials are
used, specializing in felt. Jenny attended the Ontario College
of Art and Design, and the Nova Scotia College of Art where
she studied in the Material Art and Design program. She now
lives and works in Toronto. Her work can be found at various
shows around Toronto, and in private collections in Canada,
the U.S. and Germany. Her work has been shown regularly at C1
Artspace in Toronto, at the Living Arts Centre in Mississauga,the
Toronto Outdoor Art Show in Nathan Phillips Square, and most
recently at the One of A Kind Christmas show at the Exhibition
Place.
All
the works are for sale and range in price from $18 - $150

PPT-PRO for the Saskatoon Public Library features a 52"w
proscenium and has an adjustable Playboard which projects
to the back. The Playboard is 68"w and can rest at any
point between 54"h and 37.5"h. The Roman Blind is
adjusted for 54" but could be changed to work anywhere
between these two heights.
This
PPT was designed for the specific needs of the performers
i.e. to be able to either sit down (playboard at 37"h)
or stand (playboard at 54")

and enjoy a day of Fairy Tales with Studio Babette. Little Red
Riding Hood will begin at 12:30 pm followed by The 3 Little
Pigs at 1:30 pm and Goldilocks & the Three Bears at 2:30
pm. These small-scale shows are 30 minutes in length, performed
with table-top and finger puppets and are designed to introduce
young children to live theatre. Don't forget to take part in
puppet making workshops throughout the day.

and the skeleton.
Directed by Johannes Nyholm (of trashing baby fame). Puppet
Masters: Yukimi Nagano, Håkan Wirenstrand, Fredrik Källgren
Wallin, Erik Bodin, Elias Araya, Aime Hellrand, Henrik Malmgren,
Andreas Korsár and Kurt Lightner.
I don't
have a lot of time it seems to do the puppet scent following
on the web these days but I tripped over this image (WOW),
no credit, but it was from an exhibition at the Picasso Museum
in Malaga, Spain in 2010, TOYS OF THE AVANT-GARDE. There is
a book. I got there somehow on a path from Paul
Klee: Hand Puppets (which I bought) both books still
available.

RED WAGON COLLECTIVE was formed in 2006 in response to our desire
to deepen our artistic, collaborative, and community-engaged
practices through residency projects that would enable us to
develop both intensive and extensive relationships in the Junction
- a rapidly changing neighbourhood in Toronto's west end. We
share a desire to work collaboratively with artists and non-artists
to create work that inspires new conversations; softens boundaries
between groups separated by age, culture, ability, and economic
status; promotes the presence of art in everyday life and contributes
to increasing public engagement in community development. The
work we create with communities is used in producing exhibitions,
public installations, and celebratory performance events.We
are currently working within the walls of the Evangeline Shelter.
